Shout Out... Hyungkoo Lee

I was recently introduced to the work of Korean born artist Hyungkoo Lee by Tom McManus on his “Get Tom” blog. Tom chose to feature Hyungkoo’s Animatus pieces. I was more struck by the biomechanical work from his Objectuals series.
I spent a bit of time going through the catalog of Hyungkoo’s work while listening to Shout Out Out Out Out. I was also only recently introduced to this Canadian Electrica band by Billy Perkins. Their music is available on iTunes. You can hear a snipet of Inspiration > Competition below (I do not know why the “play” arrow is backwards, ask My Flash Fetish, they distribute the free MP3 player I used to embed the track.).
I chose to feature Shout Out Out Out Out together with the work of Hyungkoo Lee because they seemed to compliment each other so well, as I was enjoying them together myself.
Shout Out Out Out Out will be playing December 7th in Vancouver, BC, at Richard’s on Richards.
Hyungkoo Lee will be featured at the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. His work can be seen at the websites of the Arario Gallery, Art News, London Korean Links and Jump Cut. And over at Meme Huffer, Jason Lonsdale questions whether Visao’s campaign, created by Red Cell Portugal, might have been a lift.
